What Can I Expect on My First Visit?
We want your first experience at CrossFit Provoke to be comfortable and welcoming. One of our expert coaches will give you a tour of the gym, sit down with you to discuss your fitness goals, guide you through a quick fitness assessment, and explain exactly what to expect moving forward.
How Often Should I Come to the Gym?
If you're just getting started, we recommend coming 3 times per week for the first couple of weeks. From there, build up to 4 or 5 days per week, with at least 2 active recovery days built into your routine for optimal results.
I’m Not in Great Shape… Can I Still Do This?
Yes — absolutely. At CrossFit Provoke, we meet you where you are. Our workouts are scalable for all fitness levels, and our community includes people of every age, background, and ability — from elite athletes to beginners just starting their journey. Whether you're training for a competition or simply want to feel better in everyday life, you're welcome here. No judgment. Just progress.
Where Is CrossFit Provoke Located?
You can find us at 2312 Pacific Coast Highway, Lomita, CA — just behind Pendleton and Project Barley. If the lot is full, there’s additional parking available on Cypress Street.
Which Entrance Should I Use?
Please use the single-door entrance next to Beach Tennis for the easiest access to our facility.

We don’t have a traditional front desk — but don’t worry! One of our coaches will greet you when you arrive, especially if it’s your first visit.
Where Can I Store My Belongings?
We provide a cubby area where you can safely store your personal items. You’re also welcome to keep your belongings nearby during your workout if you prefer.
Do You Have Changing Rooms and Showers?
Yes! We offer:
- Three bathrooms available for changing
- One shower located upstairs
- A water refill station for your convenience
What If I Forget My Water Bottle?
No problem — we have a vending machine stocked with water and pre-workout drinks. Just a heads-up: we don’t provide cups, so please bring a refillable bottle.
How Do I Clean Equipment After Workouts?
We’ve got you covered with a wipe dispenser located by the roll-up door. Please clean any equipment you use after class.
What Types of Classes Do You Offer?
All of our classes are coach-led, group-based CrossFit sessions, with built-in scaling options for every fitness level. We also offer Open Gym times for athletes who want to follow their own programming.
What Should I Wear to Class?
We recommend wearing low-profile cross-training shoes, especially for lifting days. Stick to comfortable, breathable workout clothes that allow you to move freely.
Do I Need to Bring Anything to Class?
Please bring a water bottle and any personal gear you like to use. We provide shared chalk buckets to help keep your hands dry during lifts and gymnastics movements.
Will a Coach Help Me If I’m New?
Absolutely! Every class is coach-led, and our coaches will:
- Break down each movement step by step
- Offer scaling options based on your ability and experience
- Provide real-time feedback to keep you safe and progressing
How Do the Workouts Work?
Our workouts are constantly varied and change daily to keep things fun, challenging, and effective.
